Tuberose and iris Flower production technology 

Ø   Tube rose is commonly known as “Gul-e-shaboo” ranked 4th production wise.
Ø   Native to Mexico.
Ø   Important cut flower, mostly appears in summer and early autumn.
Ø   Multiple spike/plant, long spike with multiple florets, fragrant with white colours.
Ø  Propagated by means of bulb or seed.
Ø   Loamy-sandy loam soil pH 6.5-7.5.
Ø   Temperature; 20-35 0C.
Ø   Shade à better growth.
Ø   FYMà 10 ton/ Hectare.
Ø   N,P,K; 200:50:70

 Crop cycle 76-85 days
Ø  Irrigation depends upon growth stage and temperature.
Ø   Flowers are harvested early morning/
    evening.
Ø   Harvested at 1/4th Florets open.
Ø   40% weight loss can occur after harvest/day.
Ø   Bulbs are harvested (Sep-Oct) after spike harvested field dried, fumigated and stored at cool place.

Iris Flower

  Ø   Available iv variety of colours e.g. white , blue, yellow and black.
  Ø   Propagated by means of Rhizome and bulbs.
  Ø   Requires well drained, fertile soil with shade for best growth.
  Ø  Planting time; Warm areasà September.
                                  Cool areas à before September .
Ø   Planting Depth; 4-13 cm deep.
Ø   Plenty of irrigation for better flowering.
Ø   Light: 6 hrs .
