Containers for propagating and growing young plants
Flats: These are shallow, earthen, reed, plastic, RCC, PVC or metal trays, with drainage holes in the bottom.
Clay pots: These are available in different shapes and sizes.
Plastic pots: Plastic pots, round and square have numerous advantages, they are non-porous, reusable, light weight and require little storage place and have long life.
Polythene bags: Polythene bags of different sizes (generally 6’’to 12’’ size) are widely used for propagation and growing of plants. They are available in black and white color. Besides above containers, fiber pots, peat pots, fiber blocks, root trainers etc. are widely used.

Accommodation for staff: There should be some area for accommodation of essential staff, which can be deployed in emergencies and exigencies in the nursery and it will certainly facilitate the supervision and efficiency of works. Accommodation should be outside the boundary of nursery but adjacent to it.
Water pool or lily pool: There should be one or more water pools for propagation water plants like water lily, lotus etc.

Compost pit: There should be compost/manure pits in each section, where all the leaves fall and other weed free vegetation can be dumped and allowed to rot into good compost and leaf mould. It is very difficult to get well decayed cow dung manure; hence fresh cow dong can also be dumped in these pits foe use during next year when fully decayed manure pits are thus a very essential part of a nursery. Besides all above, some recreational area, sitting places, lawns, can also from part of a commercial nursery.
